Will You Make 2023 Better?

Will 2023 be your best year yet?

Today I want to talk to you about Constant and Never-ending Improvement (CANI), and the 7 area of primary focus where we will CANI KMMA in 2023!

I also want to talk about your CANI to make it a year you’ll remember fondly.

Our CANI plans for 2023 in the dojo include:

More classes– We are adding even more classes to our very flexible schedule! In order to ensure that every student can make their 2-3 classes per week regularly, and to provide an even higher level of service in every class, we are increasing our number of classes to include more on weekends and daytime for those that can take advantage of that, plus more flexibility during weekday evenings!

Better communication– I want to communicate even better, so we will have one place where you can know that you know all things KMMA!

We already communicate via emails, video, blog, and newsletter, but find that some still don’t get the message sometimes. So, we are modifying the media and method slightly.

We will revamp the KMMA App so that ALL things KMMA happen there. Students will be able to access schedules, blogs, video, lessons, and all-important communications. There will even be an easy button- one place to ensure you know when we will close, in response to a hurricane or some other thing that may have you wondering, or whetever other most important information you need to know.

It will be the one place to know that you know all that you need to know!

Virtual Dojo– We are redesigning the Virtual dojo so that it will be so good that it is a real alternative to the live training, not only as a substitute class for a student who can’t make it that day, but even as a whole new extension of students who attend exclusively by virtual!

This will provide a positive alternative for students who choose this option for geographic, financial, or other reasons to still experience the physical, mental and community benefits, and the character and leadership development and practical self-defense skills of Krav Maga Martial Arts!

KMMA Community Event Schedule– I was listening to Sensei Ben and Sensei Mac talking in my office the other day and I realized that so many of their fondest memories growing up in the dojo were of great events we used to do. And then I realized we haven’t done as many or as well in recent years. So, this year we will have a more robust special event schedule for students and their guests!

After all, one of the deliverables of the program are the memories made in community!

Community Outreach– Speaking of community, I have taken pride in sowing into ours for 22 years now.

Of course, when you’ve served a community for as long as my school has, there are many families that have come through our program, but I am talking specifically about the outreach programs right now- the great work we do with public and private schools, scouting programs and troops, sports teams, businesses, churches and more.

We also take pride in our giving. This year we raised funds for The Human Trafficking Foundation, From Tunnels to Towers and Metropolitan Ministries. I intend to do even more in 2023!

The Blackbelt Leadership Program & Certified Instructor Training (CIT)– Our Blackbelt Leadership Program, and the CIT program that comes with it, are our flagship programs.

But, for as amazing, entertaining, educational, and empowering as they are- I have a Vision to do better!

And we will!

Unreasonable Hospitality– My Team and I are currently doing a book study and creating the application plans for Unreasonable Hospitality in 2023.

I believe our service, delievery, community and connection at KMMA already puts us heads and shoulders above the rest, but good enough is the enemy of excellent and we’ll make our best better and our better best!

I want you to experience Unreasonable Hospitality in ’23, and even join me in the movement!

More of this is what we need in our modern world.

Life is 10% what happens and 90% how we react to what happens– it’s one of our most important Blackbelt Leadership principles!

And we practice what we preach!

So, while many choose to focus on the negative consequences of things happening or threatening to happen in our country, I choose to focus us only on what we do in reaction to things and how we CANI- Constantly and Neverendingly Improve- through all of it!

Everything in life is an excuse or a reason!

In what areas of life will you improve in 2023?

What great new things will you begin?

I’d love to hear about it, and to help you too!

Reply to this email or comment wherever you read this!

2023 will be a year, with its own challenges, opportunities, and memories like every other…

how you react, and the victories and memories you make from it are up to you!
