Training Krav

That’s a picture of my beautiful canine buddy, you guessed it, “Krav”.

Well, of course I would name him that. 🙂

And I am grateful that I invested in training for him that is going to make for a long and happy life together.

I love our morning walks and I love what a good and well mannered boy he is.

The other “Krav training” I was referring to in the subject line is the self protection piece of my program here at Krav Maga Martial Arts.

Krav Maga is the self protection system of the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) and, I believe, the most practical self defense there is.

While my academy is about so much more than just self defense- developing character, leadership and communication skills; fitness, stress relief, time management and goal setting skills, and so much more in kids and adults of all ages…..

We also teach the most effective self defense.

I already had 3 other Blackbelts and had been studying martial arts for over 20 years when I started training in Krav.

I already had my school.

But when I was exposed to Krav Maga the first time, I realized that- from a self defense perspective- it was what I had been looking for all those years.

The self defense, and especially against real world problems like stick and knife attack, gun threats, multiple attackers and more, was more real, easier to learn and more effective than everything else I’d trained to until that point.

So I continued teaching the martial arts I was teaching at my dojo (martial arts academy), but also began again as a student again.

Over time I was trained and certified as an instructor by 3 different krav maga organizations, 2 in Israel.

But enough about me and back to the point.

   This is about you.

If you are looking for the very best, most practical, most efficient and effective self defense; we got that.

Yes, you’ll also get in great shape, make new friends, relieve some stress, have fun and maybe even discover a few other benefits you weren’t expecting along the way…

but you will also “walk in peace”.

You will know with certainty that you possess the physical, mental and emotional training to survive and thrive a violent encounter, that you can defend yourself and those that you love from harm.

It’s a great feeling, the confidence that comes form that kind of competence.

But don’t take my word for it.

Come see for yourself.

Great environment for families and individual training! I’ve been very impressed with the culture and quality of instructors at Tampa Krav Maga. My individual instruction has been outstanding, and the class atmosphere is one I’m happy to bring my children to and learn in.

LTC Jay Ellison, US Army (Ret)

I started training at KMMA with two of my children a couple of years ago. I wanted to get them into more active hobbies, learn self-discipline, and work toward something that takes a long time to achieve. I believe it’s valuable to learn early, the feeling that comes from achieving something you’ve worked hard for. Additionally, I decided to train with them, to share something with them I loved to do when I was younger and to get myself back into shape after a bad injury and years of being sedentary.

In a short period of time, I’ve seen so much growth in them, their confidence in particular. They absolutely love all the sensei at KMMA who make every class fun and engaging, and friendships they’ve made from working with their training partners. I have also seen a lot of growth in myself, my stamina and flexibility have improved considerably, but most of all the tremendous sense of pride I have watching my children grow every day and getting to share this journey with them. There is no doubt they will be incredible leaders and blackbelts due to the lessons instilled in them by all the amazing sensei, and the lessons of Grand Master. I’m so glad we decided to join the KMMA family.

I chose to train at Krav Maga Martial Arts (KMMA) in Land O’Lakes because when Grand Master Steve Del Castillo teaches, he’s not just delivering a product or service… he is reinforcing a lifestyle and providing leadership training that will be with me for the rest of my life.”

Grandmaster Steven Del Castillo taught the class, and it was amazing. He is amazing. Such words of wisdom that really make a difference in people’s lives. And great self defense and fun!

I have wanted to take martial arts for many years. I was specifically interested in Krav Maga. From the first class, I was hooked. The Sensei are amazing, and I look forward to training with my fellow classmates!

Enrolling in the Black Belt Leadership and Certified Instructor Training has been invaluable for my personal development, mental growth and physical fitness.
