The High Cost of a Lack of Discipline

You’re either gonna discipline yourself or your gonna get disciplined.

     Grant Cardone

I was listening to Grant Cardone this morning and he was talking about the importance of discipline- which is KMMA Blackbelt Superpower #3 by the way.

     Discipline is essential.

It’s the bridge between goals and accomplishment, and one of the key indicators of a person’s future.

It’s true for kids at school, older kids at college, and adults in careers, relationships and life.

It’s essential both for the accomplishment of great missions, visions and goals, at the best, and for the maintenance of a minimally acceptable quality of life at the worst.

    That’s an inconvenient truth.

Barb and I were talking about this earlier over coffee, even before I was listening to Grant.

It’s an inconvenient truth that the choices and decisions that we make in youth highly predict the quality of health and life we may expect to experience later.

This is especially true as pertains to exercise and nutrition.

That’s why I applaud the students of all ages (because it’s never too late to choose to do better) that are eating right, abstaining from drugs and alcohol (at least controlling the latter if they do drink) and making sure to exercise regularly.

Often, these people are making great choices around what they consume mentally as well, maintain positive attitude and also choose their associations wisely- hanging around people that lift them up and inspire them to better, rather than bring them down in their attitude, emotions, choices and behaviors…

all of these choices are all essential predictors and revolve around Discipline.

This is also why I so love and appreciate our amazing tribe of instructors, students and families at our academy.

These are all people that understand the importance of positivity, of exercise, of positive association and of Discipline.

They are having fun, getting a great workout and improving their health, association and futures, while also learning the most practical self defense.

KMMA students get to have fun and make friends while also disciplining themselves to create better futures for themselves and their families.

I am proud of and grateful for all of them.
