Small Miracles

I just found my missing Apple Watch.

It died at work a few days ago and I, along with my wife and even some help from my team today have been looking for it.

Tonight after Barb went to bed I was sitting here doing some work and thinking about my knowledge walk tomorrow…

and how I really wanted my watch so i could stream some great knowledge to my airpods while I walk; that’s what makes it a knowledge walk instead of just a walk.

So I went over to where the watch should be if I had brought it home and put it where I should have, on the charger, and heard a voice in my head tell me to look behind the table the chargers on…

so I pulled it out and looked and was to myself, self, “i think that may be a watch down there”, so I pulled out the able and got down there and, eureka it was my watch!

OK, maybe that doesn’t constitute a miracle, but it felt like one to me and I’m convinced God did tell me to look there so…

I’ll tell you what else always feels like a miracle to me:

  • when a young child that was so timid they wouldn’t look you in the eye or speak above the whisper gains the Confidence to go to the front of the class and lead the student creed for the first time.
  • when a child who had a problem with Discipline and self control finds it, and it shows not only in the dojo, but at school and home and everywhere.
  • when a child that struggles with focus begins to learn to focus his eyes, ears, mind and body in a way that helps he or she learn, communicate and perform better, and also improves their self esteem.
  • when a previously afraid woman realizes that she can defend herself, or a depressed man tells me that the tribe is what lifted him out of his depression.

These are all real life miracles that happen in my dojo every day.

And every time, I’m humbled and grateful.

God is great.

And I’m proud and grateful when he uses my team and I to do these things for his children.

We are blessed.
