On Blackbelt Vision and CANI
On Blackbelt Vision
Vision is such an important part of everything we do. You have heard that “where there is no Vision, the people perish”. It’s a cliche and a proverb and, in both cases, because it’s true.
Vision is the 6th of the Foundational Superpowers that I write about in my book, and that we develop through our Blackbelt Leadership Program at Krav Maga Martial Arts.
Vision is essential to the leadership of an organization, a team, a family, a business, a country……
Vision is also an absolute prerequisite towards success at any particular goal.
For the purposes of this message, let’s talk about becoming a Blackbelt.
The first step towards becoming a Blackbelt is you have to want it?
In class I’ll often ask a group of Basic students who wants to be a Blackbelt, and lots of hands go up.
That’s great, because the first step is to want it- rather we are talking about Blackbelt or any other big, worthy and important goal.
The next step, I’ll explain, is to put a done by date on it.
A Goal is a Dream that we set a date to.
The third and most important step is to create the Vision.
We can’t hit a target that we can not see.
Vision is the superpower that brings otherwise fuzzy and, often, far off goals into Focus.
Vision pulls us towards itself!
We can create the future through Vision and the actions that Vision causes us to take!
So here’s the next step for you on your Blackbelt quest if you haven’t completed one yet; or if you need to do so again.
Here is our KMMA Blackbelt Vision sheet.
Complete it and return it to class next time, for a Blackbelt Excellence stripe and, more importantly, as your next step towards qualifying for Blackbelt Leadership training!
