I am not sure of i should send this to all of you…
truth is, I sat down to send it to the students who are testing to their Probationary Blackbelt, Certified Blackbelt or Blackbelt Leader level next month and realized this- or at least considered and decided this.
Realized could be a strong word for what happened. 🙂
I thought to myself, “self”, perhaps all of my students and future students need to see this.
After all, while everybody is at a different place in the process, everyone has the potential to be a Blackbelt.
Kyu rank students (those not certified blackbelts or above) need to honor the law of the process, remembering that excellence happens daily but not in a day.
Blackbelts that aren’t eligible to test this time around need to remember the same on their journey to mastery as well.
And those who haven’t even started training yet need to remember that the journey of 1000 miles begins with a single step and that nothing happens until something moves.
