Control Your Programming

You Can Be Passively Programmed By Others Or Control Your Programing, And That Of Your Children, Positively On Purpose

  5 Hacks To Create Positive Programming For Yourself And Your Family:

1.  Control the input.

  MOST of the programming being pumped into our minds, and our kids’ minds, is negative if we aren’t deliberate about it. This includes the crap- sorry for the word but i think it accurately defines most media- fed via TV, social media, music and other “entertainment” sources. The forces controlling these media have an agenda, and seldom is it the positive and productive development of the consumer, though there are of course a few exceptions to this rule.

2.  Replace it with the good stuff!

  There do exist positive media sources and one of the most important decisions we make for ourselves and our kids is what we read, watch and listen to. There are those that will argue that they can watch negative news or listen to negative music and it won’t affect them. They of course have a right to this opinion but, in fact, they’re just wrong. Our input is one of the factors most responsible for our output so, if you want to become a more positive and productive person, replace junk input with material that educates and edifies.

3.  Be Careful What You Say When You Talk To Yourself, and When You Talk To Those That you Love.

   We are programming our children through what we say and what we do.

a.   In the best case we therefore positively program our children to be confident, happy and successful people. We do this ourselves as parents and also with the help of developmental 3rd parties. I am grateful that so many parents allow us to help them raise their children to be positive and productive leaders.

b.  In the worst case we did not receive this ourselves. But the good news is that based on the science of neuroplasticity, we know we can rewire our brains to overcome the negative and limiting beliefs programmed into us in the past.

4.  Educate and execute.

   We know what we know and sometimes we know what we don’t know. It’s what we don’t know that we don’t know that will get us. Nobody ever sets out to screw their kids up, nor to become lazy, apathetic or negative.

Nobody ever plans to get unfit or unhealthy either; but in both cases it’s what we learn and then what we do with what we learn that makes the difference. We must be willing to humble ourselves enough to learn something new and then believe in ourselves enough to take aggressive action to make that change. I know I am still a work in progress but I have made soooo much progress applying this process for many years. I am also blessed to help so many others do the same through my mission at KMMA!

5.  Get In The Right Tribe.

We become like the people we associate with. Pick your tribe carefully.
