Confidence Comes From Accomplishment
Hello, KMMA tribe, friends, family, students. I hope this message finds you well. Today I want to talk to you about confidence and if you’re a part of the tribe, you know that confidence is one of the black belt superpowers that we develop in our Black Belt leadership program here, and confidence. Today I wanted to talk about how we create confidence and the fact that confidence is necessary for success, but success is crucial to confidence. And here’s what I’m saying here is that it’s true that the more confident we become, the more successful we can become in various, various challenges in our lives. Personal, professional, financial, martial arts, all the challenges. Confidence is one of the key ingredients and elements, but it is also true that confidence comes from accomplishment. So the way that you become more confident is by succeeding at worthy things. It’s really the black belt go setting system and leadership and achievement system that we use here at Crown and Guy Martial Arts.
(01:17)
And so let’s talk a little bit about that today and what it looks like because you can apply the same principles to personal, professional, financial relational goals as we do to teaching a new white belt. How to become a confident, competent black belt leader one day. And first it’s this. You have to set the goals. We teach our students that the first step towards becoming a black belt is you have to set the goal to be a black belt. You have to put a date and you have to put it in writing. Well, it’s the same for any other thing we want to accomplish in our life. Personal and professional goals and any such goals, any goals. You got to first set the goal, you got to give it a date, and you gotta put it in writing. You gotta make it a smart goal.
(02:03)
And then we teach the students that the next thing they have to do to become a black belt is that they have to train like a black belt. Well, that just means you got to do the work, whatever it is that we want to be better at. When we set worthy goals, we got to come back and we got to do the work. And not only got to do the work, not only got to be willing to work, but you gotta work consistently. You have to plan your work and work your plan, and you have to remain consistent at it and listen, not give up the first time it gets hard. That doesn’t develop confidence. Every time we give up on our goals, we’re hurting our confidence. And then we teach the students that after they set the goal and they’re training like a black belt, we teach ’em that they can never give up.
(02:50)
We just talked about it. So listen, we’re at that time of the year where that’s what we should be doing for 2025. And by the way, I already know, I know what my physical and my professional, my financial goals for 2025 are, and I’m already beginning the zero week preparation work to make sure that I’m ready to hit the ground running when this new year hits. And that’s what we got to do. So listen, if it’s not something that’s already kind of a habit for you, if you don’t take this time of the year to think about what’s really going to be next year, what is new and what you want to accomplish, put a little time, put a little focus, put a little energy on that thing. Start thinking that is the first step. You have to define it. You got to say you want to, whatever the thing is.
(03:45)
And what’s funny is when you listen to a message like this, the thing is probably in your heart and mind resonating already. Now it’s a matter of, okay, let’s make a smart goal. Let’s make sure that we have a plan to do the work and let’s make sure that we have the tribes and systems in place to make sure that we’re not going to quit, that we’re going to stick to our goals. And by the way, we can probably help with some of those goals. If you’re hearing this and you’re not already a member of a tribe of our tribe, then we’d love to see you. You can just comment or call 813- 9 4 8- 4 8 4 4, and we’d be happy to get you started on your VIP orientation and help you accomplish all your goals in 2025.
(04:35)
But whatever you do, make sure they’re worthy goals that are going to challenge you and that are going to help you become more confident. When we set and achieve our goals, it’s when we honor our commitments to ourselves that we become more confident and with more confidence, we become more successful. And with more success, we become more confident. It’s the right way for the cycle to go. And unfortunately, we know the cycle can go the other way. Sometimes when we begin to lose in certain areas, if you’re not careful, guard your mind. If you’re not surrounded by the right people, you can lose confidence, which creates more losses, which creates less confidence. So you can spin that cycle in either way. It’s up to you. Prepare to live in power to lead. I’m shihan Steve.
