Community Outreach

This week, I have been teaching PE classes with some of my team at Lake Myrtle Elementary School.

I am proud and grateful that this marks 20 years of doing this with Coach Mitchell and the Myrtle Turtles!

This is just one of the many community outreach programs we do.

It’s my idea of marketing.

Sure, we also do online and paid advertising, but my favorite kind is just sharing what we do.

I love community “marketing” best for two reasons:

1. If I can get in front of a group of people- at schools, business or wherever- and let them experience what we do and, more specifically, what we can do for them- there is a good chance that some will love it and decide they want train with us long term…maybe even to Blackbelt and beyond!

2. I LOVE the fact that we positively sow into ALL of them; making a positive impact even on those that don’t continue.

I can’t tell you how often a young adult stops me somewhere to ask “did you used to teach martial arts” at (their school or at whatever community outreach they met me).

And it usually continues on with some fond memories or testimony of what we did for them.

The other day a young lady who started such a conversation with me at the restaurant my wife and I were at said, “I don’t remember much from school- just the cool stuff. And I remember you.”

These encounters make my day almost as much as the ones where my Blackbelts come back to thank me for the difference we made in their lives.

I am sharing all this for 2 reasons:

1. We are available to come to your school, troop, club, team, other organization and sow into you. Just reply to this email if you’d like me to help set that up for you!

2. I am also looking for some marketing interns and professionals to help us! Let me know if you’re interested in more info on either.
