You Can’t Prepare For Everything
We don’t know what our future crucibles will look like.
That’s the uncomfortable truth.
You can’t specifically prepare for every illness, loss, financial problem, professional challenge, relationship difficulty, failure or disappointment that life might eventually send your way.
But here’s what you can prepare:
You.
You can develop:
- Focus.
- Respect.
- Discipline.
- Confidence.
- Courage.
- Grit.
- Perseverance.
- Emotional control.
- Mental toughness.
- Character.
- Leadership.
Those qualities don’t guarantee that life will be easy.
They do something more important.
They help determine how you respond when life isn’t easy.
At KMMA, that’s one of the deeper purposes behind training.
We’re not trying to predict every challenge our students will face.
We’re helping them become the kind of people who are better prepared to face whatever comes.
Because the specific circumstances may be outside our control.
Who we have prepared ourselves to become is not.
So don’t ask:
“How do I prepare for everything life might throw at me?”
Ask:
“Who do I need to become so I’m ready when it does?”
That’s the work.
And it starts long before the crucible arrives.
Prepare now so you can lead when the crucible comes.
