Wisdom Consists of Knowing What You Don’t Want, as Well as What You Do Want

Your goals should also be designed to create rewards that are most important to you, not to someone else. Some experimentation may be required, particularly during your early years, to find what you really like and what you’re best at. Career and financial goals should be balanced with personal goals such as maintaining relationships with people who are important to you. Your plan for your life should also include some fun goals, doing something simply because you enjoy doing it. Spiritual development is also important in becoming a happy, well-rounded person. Make sure you allow time for all important aspects of your personal development.
I received that email from the late great Napoleon Hill this morning, and it made me think about this weekend’s Blackbelt Retreat again.
The magic wasn’t just about the students’ tests or accomplishments, though they were awesome!
Not just about how well the whole event was orchestrated and executed, all the great leaders, great food, great speeches…
It was also about the relationships, the camaraderie and the bonding that happened.
As Dr. Mike told the younger campers by the campfire, “these friendships may very well last a lifetime.”
Today I am proud and grateful for all of that, and my relationship with all of you!
I hope to see you all at graduation this Saturday, either because you’re leveling up, or as a guest!
