Winner Wednesday Blackbelt
This morning I was thinking about writing about Taylor Hixson, KMMA Blackbelt and US Naval Aviator, or Ceyla Escendimir, Gerge Washington University Graduate and DC Lawyer, or Madison Ogilvie that is on a full ride scholarship to LSU and pursuing her dream to be a veterinarian; or about any other one of the military, educational and career success stories of KMMA Blackbelts, and they are to come!
We’re making a Wall of Fame at the academy right now to honor KMMA Blackbelt Leaders that have gone on to take the Blackbelt Leadership Excellence and principles they learned “out of the dojo and into the world”.
But today, with our next Blackbelt Test and Extravaganza right around the corner, I’m going to honor them.
Testing for their first or next steps of Probationary Blackbelt are:
Flynn Cummings (Step 2) |
Matthew Zheutlin (Step 2) |
Elena Bailey (Step 1) |
Isabel Bailey (Step 1) |
Katie Bailey (Step 1) |
Robert Carpenter (Step 1) |
Nathan Dorman (Step 1) |
Scott Dorman (Step 1) |
Jordan Flores (Step 1) |
Abby Gilbert (Step 1) |
Scott Gilbert (Step 1) |
Aiden Lovallo (Step 1) |
Eva Lovallo (Step 1) |
Ayden Spenceley (Step 1) |
Elvia Torres (Step 1) |
Nathan Zheutlin (Step 1) |
and testing for their Certified Blackbelts, first degree, are:
Geno Flores III |
Ruthe Flores |
Gabby Gray |
Lia Guevara |
Anna Mathura |
Charlie Wittwer |
Join me in congratulating each and all of these students as they take one step closer to becoming a Blackbelt Leader and their calling in the world, rather that be off to college, career or even staying to help bring up the next generation of Blackbelt Leaders at KMMA!
Our Blackbelt Extravaganza is September 26 by the way. Send me your address if you’d like a ticket!
Friends, families and community are welcome! It’s a great place to just catch a vision of what can be if you’re considering joining us.
This Winner Wednesday, I also wanted to share something from my morning reading, because I agree with the author on how important this trait is:
Decisiveness saves a lot of time.
People waste a lot of time on indecisiveness for a whole host of reasons: lack of clarity about their intentions; lack of confidence in themselves and their decision making capabilities; insufficient information or a lack of trust in its sources; and maybe worst of all, a habit of decision avoidance or procrastination for not good reason but it’s ingrained habit-force.Some people believe that slowly made decisions are better than quickly made ones, but I’ve certainly seen no evidence of this in my own experience- with clients and in my study of exceptionally successful entrepreneurs, CEOs and leaders. You can even make a solid case for failing forward fast. If you are a painfully slow and anxious decision-maker, it’d be good to identify the root cause and eradicate it.
