Will 2022 Be A Good Year?

It’s 0353 Sunday morning, the day after Christmas and about six days before the new year.

We are less than a week from January 1, 2022.

I know, it’s crazy isn’t it?

I’m not usually up at 0353 in the morning, but usually some time between 6 and 7.

But I have found that when I can’t go back to sleep, God usually has something to talk to me about and I usually have some writing to do.

I hope what I write about today is helpful to you.

This week, over the next 6 days, I have some work to do.

Some is to prepare the dojo (my leadership and martial arts academy) for the new year, some is preparation to create improvements in my own life and some is for you.

All of it is essential to making this the best year ever.

As I teach in my leadership academy, we create our worlds by the things that we think, say and do.

It’s true for me and it’s true for you.

This truth is powerful.

When we think, say and do positive things, we produce positive results.

Unfortunately the opposite is also true.

As surely as positive, optimistic thinking and purposeful, deliberate and disciplined action creates positive outcomes and moves us in the direction of the things that we want (our Goals), negative, pessimistic thinking and destructive or even negligent action creates negative results.

The truth is, this is one of the most important things that we develop in our Blackbelts and future Blackbelts through my Blackbelt Leadership program.

We teach students to design the life they want through the power of Vision, and create that life through execution with the application of Focus, Discipline and Confidence.

These are four of the six foundational Blackbelt Superpowers that I teach about in my book, Developing Your Superpowers, and that we teach through my program- the other two are Respect and Gratitude, which are essential allies to the others on our quest to be our best and create the life we desire.

I’ll give you one when you come in to try my program and see how we can help you accomplish all of your goals and make this the best year ever!

In the interim, let’s get back to the thesis of this blog, which is exactly that;

You and I CAN make this our best year yet!

Here’s how:

  1. Complete the Year in Review for 2020. This is the review and improvement part of our PARI (Plan, Act, Review, Improve) Process. We will evaluate what we did, our victories and opportunities, our performance in relation to our goals and how all of that plays into our goal setting for this year.
  2. Design the life that we want. This will involve the creation process formula, gratitude worksheet, the wheel of life and other tools to help us identify what’s really important to us. I’ll be working through all of this with my Blackbelt Leadership students in January as well as step three, and then four- which of course we will be acting upon throughout the year.
  3. Design the plan to get you there.
  4. Execute that plan daily! The days create the weeks, create the months, create the years. Discipline, learning and accountability are the keys to execution which is the key to succeeding at any plan.

I will be working on steps 1-3 in my personal life with my wife and sons later this week on a leadership retreat.

Then with the rest of my Blackbelt Leadership students in the first couple weeks of January.

Then for the other 50 weeks of ‘22, we will turn Vision into reality.

If you’re already a Blackbelt Leadership student, congratulations and get excited!

This will be your best year yet!

If you’re a Basic Training student, make goal one to qualify and move into the Leadership program this year!

If you’re not a student yet, I hope you’ll sign up for your 2 week free trial.

Nothing will change until something changes.

My team and I can help you but only you can take this first step.

and expecting different results.”

I am excited!

This will be the best year ever, not just for me, but also for my students, Team and family.

Now I know why God woke me so early today!

So much to do!

See you soon!

P.s. I was going to schedule this to go out tomorrow morning, but I’m too excited and feel led to let it go now, so that’s what I am going to do!

P.s.s. Have you picked up your 2022 Blackbelt Leadership calendar yet? It’s not just a great motivational calendar with monthly quotes and pics, but also has all of the internal and external KMMA training and community events for the year you plan your best year ever in advance!

If you haven’t gotten it yet, do so when you come to class next week. It’s a gift from me to all KMMA student families!
