What Teachers Notice Before the Grades
Before the first test is graded, teachers are already noticing things.
- Who is paying attention.
- Who listens when directions are given.
- Who participates.
- Who keeps trying when something is difficult.
- Who takes responsibility for their work.
And who has a positive attitude-even when they’re having a tough day.
These things may not show up on a report card right away.
But they can have a big impact on how a child learns, grows, and handles the school year.
Because success at school isn’t just about knowing the answers.
It’s also about how a child approaches the challenge.
Are they willing to listen?
Are they willing to try?
Can they stay focused?
Can they accept correction and learn from it?
Can they take responsibility for their choices?
These are skills that must be developed long before the first grade ever comes home.
