What I’ve Learned About Strength
When I first started coming around to KMMA as a mom on the sidelines, I thought I understood what strength meant.
I was thinking about the obvious things.
Being physically strong.
Being confident.
Being able to push through something difficult.
Then, when I began working for KMMA and started training myself, I got to experience what I had been watching from the sidelines.
And the longer I’ve been around KMMA—and the longer I’ve trained myself—the more I’ve realized that strength isn’t always what it looks like from the outside.
Sometimes strength is simply showing up when you don’t feel like it.
Sometimes it’s being willing to be a beginner.
Sometimes it’s getting frustrated, making mistakes, and trying again anyway.
And sometimes, especially as a parent, strength is remembering that our children don’t need us to make everything easy for them.
They need us to help them learn that they can handle hard things.
I’ve watched students at KMMA struggle with something one week and come back the next week determined to try again.
I’ve watched kids become more confident.
I’ve watched adults discover that they are capable of far more than they thought.
And I’ve experienced some of that myself.
KMMA has reminded me that strength isn’t something you suddenly arrive at.
It’s something you build.
One class.
One challenge.
One decision to keep going.
And as we move into next week, I keep coming back to one simple idea:
Stay Stronger.
Not because life will always be easy.
But because you are becoming someone who knows how to keep going when it isn’t.
And honestly, I think that’s one of the greatest things we can give ourselves—and our kids.
The belief that I can handle this.
Keep showing up.
Keep learning.
Keep growing.
You might be stronger than you think.
