What are you thinking?

This is an important question that we should all ask ourselves.

It’s important because there are really only two things that we can control in life- our thoughts and our actions.

And our action, and reactions, are largely determined by our thoughts.

The Blackbelt Leadership Team recently finished an important book on self talk called “What To Say When You Talk To Yourself”.

I highly recommend it for you and your kids. Of course As A Man Thinketh, Think and Grow Rich, The Power of Positive Thinking and The Magic of Thinking Big are others.

The common message of all of these is that the way we think largely determines everything else, including the way we are and the quality of our life as well as our impact.

Controlling how we think is one of the myriad of leadership ideas that are simple, but not easy.

We have to first recognize that we need to improve in this area and then often go through years of reading, conscious exercise and/or even counseling or therapy to improve our thoughts and other activity to rewire our brain.

It’s very doable by the way though; I did it.

While often praised for my positive thinking today, I didn’t grow up in that environment and the changing of my thought patterns took me years.

But I am going to share three hacks that can greatly change how we think and shorten the training curve to powerful positive thinking:

  1. The Law of Association- We become like the people we hang with. What we read, watch and listen to are critically important and so is who we associate with. Our Sensei and Tribe at KMMA are like minded people training to be better, who are positive, upbeat and supportive of one another.
  2. Start Young- The only thing better than rewiring our brains for positivity is to wire right in the first place. The younger we start with winning thoughts in children the better they will be. We can’t go back and change our youth but, if you are blessed to be a parent, you get to choose your child’s programming. We train children with positive mental attitude, confidence and self esteem and other leadership and success skills.
  3. Get A Success Coach- The best way to succeed at anything is to hire someone who’s already gone the way to help you. I have coaches and so should you. Team KMMA are all positive and successful examples of the power of positive thinking, as well as health, fitness and confidence. Let us help you and yours to be your best.
