The Days You Don’t Feel Like It
Some days, especially after a long day of school, you just don’t feel like doing anything.
You’re tired. You’d rather go home. You’d rather relax.
For 15-year-old Brayden Wade, those days happen too.
Brayden is a sophomore in high school, a Red 3 belt at KMMA, and he’s preparing to test for his Probationary Black Belt in September.
He’s been training since he was around 11 years old.
So when he was asked what the hardest part about training has been, his answer wasn’t about learning a difficult technique or preparing for a challenging test.
It was something much simpler:
Some days, you just don’t feel like coming.
But then something happens.
You walk through the doors.
You start training.
And suddenly, things feel a little different.
In his interview, Brayden talked about how the people at KMMA can change his entire outlook after a long day.
“Everybody’s so friendly. It just cheers you up again.”
Then he was asked what staying strong means to him.
His answer came down to two things:
Consistency. And doing your best.
He also talked about something that’s easy to overlook: when you stay consistent, you’re not just helping yourself.
You’re helping your training partner get better, too.
That’s what I love about Brayden’s answer.
Staying strong doesn’t always mean doing something extraordinary.
Sometimes it means coming in when you don’t really feel like it.
Doing your best once you’re there.
And not quitting.
Because you never know what might happen once you simply decide to show up.
Watch this short clip from Brayden’s interview and hear it from him.
Brayden’s story is a simple reminder that consistency isn’t about feeling motivated every single day.
It’s about continuing to show up.
And sometimes, the people around you help make that a little easier.
Stay strong. Stay consistent. Don’t quit.
P.S. Brayden started at KMMA when he was 11. He had no idea where that first class would eventually take him.
Maybe your first class is where your journey begins, too.
