TBT – What Direction Are You Headed?

Throwback Thursday is about memories but, as this throwback blog I wrote about 3 years ago states, forward is the direction we need to focus on.

I hope you’ll read the blog I hyperlinked above, and that it will be useful to you. I think it’s got some good ideas and tools about forward motion.

But I want to also add a quick talk about Vision and WIN.

Vision is the 6th Blackbelt Superpower, and the one we use for students to create the Vision of who and how they will be as confident and competent Blackbelt Leaders, in their futures.

WIN is the Blackbelt Leadership tool we teach to help them stay focused on what’s important next.

You see, becoming a Blackbelt, like any worthy goal in life, doesn’t happen overnight; it takes the throwback character traits of stick-to-it·ive·ness, grit, perseverance, as well as the Blackbelt Superpowers that students actually develop on the way to getting the goal.

But what can be exceedingly useful, on the goals to Blackbelt Leadership and any and all truly worthy goals in life, is applied Focus to what’s important next…

put simply, this means identification of the next step, the next step and the next step and then applying our Focus energy and effort to that next small step until it’s accomplished- and then repeating the process again and again.

The belt system at Krav Maga Martial Arts is a great analogy to how it’s done with anything.

The student becomes a confident and competent Blackbelt Leader not in some vigorous leap, but one belt at a time; or, to break the 3 month belt cycles down even further: one stripe test at a time, or even one class at a time…

but then, over time, the student becomes the Blackbelt worthy of the Blackbelt test!

And this is how winning is done- in anything.

What’s your WIN?

It is useful to ask this question in every area of your life by the way.

And don’t forget to register at Krav Maga Martial Arts if you have not yet.

        We love to help.

Prepare To Live; Empower To Lead!
