Super Heroes in Training

TampaKravMaga.com

This morning I taught a leadership class to my campers/students on what we call The Blackbelt Superpowers.

We call them “superpowers” because:

  1. they are rare,
  2. they help us accomplish superhuman things and,
  3. they benefit not just ourselves but others.

They are fundamental leadership attributes that we develop in our students on their way to Blackbelt.

I am so grateful that we have Richard, Jazmine, Ephraim and Scott at camp.

These are adult leaders who are here not only sharpening their own Krav Maga Martial Arts physical and leadership skills, but they also help the Sensei and I sow into the kids.

We discussed Focus, Respect for self and others, Discipline, Gratitude and Vision.

Then the students all did the Blackbelt Vision sheet, with the help of the amazing adult leaders I mentioned…

We’re kicking off our summer Blackbelt Goal Setting Season, so the campers got to lead the way.

And even more importantly they are creating the Vision that will create the actions, attitudes, beliefs and behavior that will turn them into real life Blackbelt Superheroes one day!

All students should complete a Vision worksheet this week. If you are a student, you can download a copy here or get one from your Sensei when you come to class this week. Then fill it out and get it in- so that we can get it on the mirror and award you an excellence stripe!

During Blackbelt goal setting season, every student should do it by the way!

We don’t just set our goals once, we have to keep them in our Vision every day and reset that Vision at regular points along the way.

Finally I want to share how incredibly proud of and grateful for I am of every single student in this group, as well as their parents, for being a part of something so productive this summer.

They are making friends and having fun, but also developing skills and attributes that will serve them well for the rest of their lives.

This is a truly productive summer school. 🙂

There’s still a few slots for the July one, and you can register by clicking the link below.
