Staying Open-Minded and Making Sure Your Tool Serve You and Not the Other Way Around

As I am personally (i.e. just me and my thoughts and my keyboard) writing this meditation to you, ChatGPT is working on a draft of a new Team KMMA Planner I am creating (with that tool’s help).

Truth is, I was a bit close minded about what ChatGPT could do for me at first, or perhaps just afraid to use it…

but once I started, I am quite impressed with the time saving I can get on so many tasks, and how efficient and effective this tool is on supporting my goals by allowing me greater productivity.

I am totally a fan of any productivity tools that can help us to accomplish more of what matters, towards our personal and professional goals, within our unique callings and roles.

And then, I am also totally adverse to the myriad digital age gadgets, games, apps and others that serve as distractions from our most important roles and goals and can reduce our productivity, effectiveness and efficiency within these, as well as even affecting positivity and purpose in the worst cases.

I think the key is keeping our Focus on the things that matter most to us and being aware when/if anything, really, is pulling us from these things.

I guess the principles at play here are the same when interacting with online and/or digital devices as with organic people, places and things- and media and input or “tools” of any kind…

Are you wagging the tail or is the tail wagging you.

If you’re in charge, the media, AI or app is a tool.

If it is, it’s a detriment.

Making that decision and remaining in control of where we apply our time, energy and attention is an extremely important leadership tool.
