Progress to Wellness

On today’s wellness Wednesday, I want to share with you what I believe to be one of the most important keys to wellness, and that’s progress.

I am grateful to Dr. Gold, our own Holistic Doctor who shares advice with my tribe every Wednesday on health and nutrition, and excited that she and her husband, Dr. Drew, the PhD, will both be sharing wisdom at the Blackbelt Retreat again this weekend!

And today, that’s what I want to talk to you about, the Blackbelt Retreat weekend and what it represents.

About 30 candidates will be reporting to The Word of Life in Hudson Fl for the Blackbelt Retreat and test.

It’s a weekend test they’ve been preparing to pass for many years.

In fact, from 3 years for those testing to probationary Blackbelt, to about 20 for my son Harley, who’s testing for his 5th Degree Senior Master rank.

They all come from different start points, and each had different challenges along the way.

Some were kids who lacked focus or control, and now they have that.

Some were shy and timid, and now they’re confident and courageous.

All are better, stronger, and faster than they were before, and ready for whatever challenges and opportunities they’ll undertake in life.

And, while the Blackbelt test is hard, nobody ever regrets having taken it.

In fact, most will tell you that the tests are defining moments in their lives.

You see, as I’ve already alluded, we are wired for progress and naturally hungry for success.

There are those that would have us believe that a life of leisure, comfort and complacency would be a desirable one, but I don’t believe it.

I think we have to be chasing worthy goals, and winning, to be satisfied.

In fact, it’s also why we should never accomplish the goal without having set the next one; almost as bad as never setting a goal is arriving.

We must have the next thing, and the next to strive for.

We are wired for progress.

AND we should be happy.

We are happy and grateful for who we are, how we are, where we are and all of our blessings; AND we are hungry to become constantly better and higher versions of ourselves and to help others to do the same.

Tis the way of my people!

I am so proud of all my Blackbelts, and especially my Blackbelt Leaders (2nd Degree), Senior Blackbelts (3rd Degree) and Masters (4th Degree and above) …

They are all walking and talking examples of the way themselves, and leaders who are hungry not only to keep growing but to help others to do the same.

Please join me in celebrating their success this coming Sunday!

We’ll be promoting and celebrating the progress of they and all of our students moving on to their next levels at KMMA!
