Out of the Dojo and Into the World
My team and I at Krav Maga Martial Arts develop attitudes, aptitudes and attributes in students that are meant not just for their martial arts journey in the dojo-
but to take out of the dojo and into the world.
The character and leadership development program prepares them for success in life, and to make a meaningful contribution to the world.
I also get to go out of the dojo and into the world sometimes. 🙂
Here I am with the kids of our KMMA Enrichment Program at Carrollwood Day School yesterday.
Here I am sowing into Mrs. Torregiante’s Honors Leadership class at HCC the other day.
Here’s the email she sent me after that by the way; it made my day.
And she said it was ok to share it. 🙂
Hi Steve,
I just wanted to say thank you again for coming to speak to my Honors Leadership students today. Your presentation was very informative, engaging, relevant, relatable, and impactful! Not only did the students appreciate your lecture (as evidenced from their full attention, participation, and note-taking), but you also inspired me to incorporate some of your teaching strategies into my own personal teaching style as well. Thank you for helping me become a better teacher, leader, and mentor to my students. I am so glad I asked, and even more grateful that you said yes.
I plan to write a google review, but I am first going to ask students for feedback. I just know they are going to say great things, and I want to include some of their feedback in the review as well. I’ll share that feedback with you hopefully soon!
And on a more personal note…. the more I get to know you (and what you stand for), the more confident I am in my choice to enroll Corbin in the KMMA program. The decision wasn’t easy at first because I didn’t know you very well, and viewed KMMA as primarily a business (with business goals). The trust wasn’t quite there in the beginning, and it took me a while to realize that the warmth and connection felt in the dojo was actually sincere. But, I know better now. 🙂 I can see that you care deeply about your students and want to lift them up, and lead them to greatness. And, once I found that clarity and confirmation, KMMA began to feel more like an extension of my own family. And, I wholeheartedly trust that you will continue to be a positive contribution in Corbin’s life, and part of the very important team of people who are working hard to support him and help him succeed in life.
Thank you again, and I hope you have a good week. See you in the dojo soon!
Kelley
