Of All the Things I Do as Founder & CEO… This Is Still My Favorite

People sometimes assume that as the Founder and CEO of KMMA, my days are mostly meetings, planning, numbers, and strategy.

And yes—those things matter. A lot.
They’re part of stewarding a mission that’s bigger than any one person.

But if I’m being honest?

   My favorite part of my job is still teaching.

I love teaching our Level 4 and Level 5 Blackbelt classes.
I love working with students who have stayed the course long enough to see what Blackbelt really means.

And maybe even more than that…

I love teaching, training, sowing into, and growing our teams—the Blackbelt Leaders who then go on to train our students, our families, and our future leaders.

Because that’s how this works.

A great teacher doesn’t just create great students.
A great teacher creates great teachers, great leaders, and great people who carry the mission forward.

That’s what gets me fired up.

It’s also why I’m so energized right now.

We’re building something meaningful.
We’re preparing for some exciting next steps.
And we’re actively looking for people who want to help—in different ways, at different levels, and in different seasons of life.

Some of you will step up by:

  • Deepening your training

  • Helping in class

  • Growing as leaders through programs like CIT or MAP

And for some of our long-time students and VIP families…
There will soon be opportunities to help grow the mission in even bigger ways as we make some important moves for the future.

More on that soon.

For now, just know this:
If you’ve ever felt called to do more, lead more, or give more—there’s a place for you here.

And I’m grateful I get to teach you.

Grandmaster Steve
