Life-Long Learner
Today I am grateful that all those years ago I learned the principle of being a Life Long Learner (L3) from Brian Tracey.
Who knows where I’d be if I hadn’t learned that lesson, and taken it to heart.
I come from extremly humble beginnings.
And there was a time that I could never have envisioned all that I have accomplished today.
Thank God I developed a love of reading early, and that that habit led me to a greater understanding and love of the idea of personal development…
and that that journey led me to principles like L3, CANI, 10/90 and most of all the rest of the Blackbelt Leadership principles that I teach at Krav Maga Martial Arts.
Next to grit, and perseverance, two of the attributes I developed not just through my own martial arts training, but through my military experiences and later as an entrepreneur, I think that being a life long learner, and other similar character and leadership development success habits are the real value of my program.
Yes, we also teach the most practical self defense system in the world.
But we also teach success principles that serve our students well in anything and everything they aspire to do.
Our Blackbelt Leaders are equipped for life success!
And a lot quicker, easier and more directly than I was!
I’m grateful that most of them will never have to go through to grow to in the same fashion that I did.
The way we prep them is far more effective and efficient.

About Grandmaster Stephen J. Del Castillo: Grandmaster Del Castillo is the founding Master Instructor of Krav Maga Martial Arts and has been empowering lives in Pasco and Hillsborough Counties since October of 2000. He is a 7th degree Blackbelt, MBA, author, mentor and success coach, a US Army Veteran and a proud father and grandfather. He is married to Ms. Barbara Del Castillo who helps him run the school. Grand Master Del Castillo began his training in the early 80’s and has high level blackbelts in Tae Kwon Do, Karate, Premier Martial Arts and Krav Maga Martial Arts as well as experience in kickboxing, Jeet Kune Do and Jiujitsu. He has high level instructor certifications from BBSI, IKMF, and KMG and has been featured in numerous Martial Arts publications and also Success magazine. He was a competitive sport karate and American Kickboxing instructor until he enlisted in the US Army where he served in the 82nd Airborne Division, where he won an Army Green to Gold scholarship and proceeded to ROTC and the University of Tampa. He was commissioned in 1992 and went on to serve in Germany with the 3rd Infantry Division and then in several other posts in the US until he left military service to pursue his dream of creating KMMA in 2000.
