It Matters

I received the following email from Mrs. Caldwell yesterday.

She’s the Assistant Principal at Hammond Elementary, a Blackbelt Leadership student and the mom of two younger Blackbelt Leadership students; dad trains too. It’s a family affair.

Good Evening.

I hope you are having a great vacation!

I wanted to send a shout out to Sensei James! He led a great class tonight. He gave specific feedback and encouraged everyone. Caroline had a moment of getting upset and Sensei James immediately recognized that she is a student who internalizes everything and tries to ensure others are doing the right thing. Sensei James spoke with her at her level and reassured her. She accepted a hug and went back to her practice.

Thank you Sensei James!

Have a great rest of your trip!

Sarah Caldwell

I am first and foremost proud of and grateful to Sensei James for the great work.

The email also inspired the morning meditation that led to this blog- it matters.

The way we treat people, our communication and leadership skills, and the ability to bridge and make another feel better so they can be their best…

these are blessings and also skills.

There is an art and a science to it.

These are just some of the communication skills that we teach in our Blackbelt Leadership Training Course (LTC) and Certified Instructor Training (CIT) Programs.

Some graduates go on to become amazing KMMA Sensei.

They’re great because they’re great, and they train to be great.

But even students who don’t stick around to help bring up the next generation of Blackbelt Leaders take the skills with them, “out of the dojo and into the world”.

Wouldn’t it be great if all people had the training to do what Sensei James and the other instructors of KMMA do, to encourage and empower their students, their kids, their employees, teams, cohorts, others?

It is and will be for many who graduate from our Blackbelt Leadership Program.

We are often asked what makes our program different.

This is one of those things.

Prepare To Live; Empower To Lead!
