Ikigai

Have you ever heard of it before?

Ikigai is one’s reason for being, which in principle is the convergence of one’s personal passions, beliefs, values, and vocation: those who follow the concept of ikigai undertake the activities of their life with willingness and a satisfying sense of meaning.

I am blessed indeed, because I live ikigai every day.

I pray you do, have or will too.

And, to my students, Sensei, team and tribe; thank you.

Prepare To Live; Empower To Lead!

p.s. Speaking of Ikigai, I am looking to hire, train, lead and mentor a new Program Director. Read on to see if that may be you; or if it makes you think of someone for whom it may be.

Mission Description: Program Director, Team KMMA

The Program Director has the great honor of being a student’s first experience with KMMA. Our mission is to create Blackbelt Leaders- preparing them to survive and thrive any situation, and empowering them with the knowledge, skills, abilities, and attitude to lead! But every Blackbelt must be a white belt beginner first; and it is our Program Director’s mission to afford them this opportunity. The Program Director attracts future students and conducts their tour, trial, and orientation lesson, educates them on the features and benefits our program, and helps the enroll in the life changing experience of KMMA!

The right candidate is positive and optimistic, humble, hungry, and smart (each as defined below) These are core values for us. Military, martial arts, college, marketing and/or sales experience are also a plus, but none are required as training is 100% provided for the applicant with the right attitude and values.

Humble

Humility means focusing on the greater good, instead of focusing on yourself or having an inflated ego. Humble people are willing to own up to their failures or flaws, apologize for their mistakes, accept others’ apologies, and can sincerely appreciate others’ strengths/skills. It’s the most important trait of being a great team player.

Hungry

Being hungry means that you always seek more, e.g., to do more, learn more, or take on more responsibility.  Hungry people are self-motivated to work hard, take initiative and go beyond their call of duty.

Smart (or people-smart)

This means having common sense about people, i.e., being aware of and perceptive about other people, asking good questions, listening well, and knowing how to respond effectively.

A career at KMMA is fun, and you get to make a difference while also enjoying a great career! Kids will grow up remembering you as one of the people that made a positive impact in their lives; their parents and other adult students will be grateful too.

You will work in a culture of excellence, and enjoy your own journey of personal, professional, and martial arts development while helping our students do the same.
