I Woke Up With Heartburn

I woke up with heartburn in the middle of the night…

I took some Tums and went back to bed; not right away, but eventually.

I also put on 17 lbs over the last week and half.

  I know, crazy right!

Neither of these things were a surprise to me.

I know exactly how I caused them.

It was my birthday last week and I went on the first vacation i have been on in a few years and…well, neither of those things are the reason for the behavior.

But they are the excuse as to why I made the choice to allow the behavior.

I ate and drank whatever I wanted for a week and a half, plus slacked from my  training routine and, wallah…

I am not surprised or upset because I chose to take the week off and deal with the repercussions after, and now that’s what I will do.

You know, all of life is like this by the way.

We are always responsible for our results; and they are almost always directly related to our choices and behaviors.

That’s good or bad news depending on your outlook.

I see it as good, because I know I can then do something about it.

If my past choices and behavior cause my results, which I believe is true, then my future choices and behaviors do too, and I believe that too.

Today I begin back to the nutritional and training choices that get me back on track towards my target weight, health, energy and performance…

because, yeah by the way, I can feel the difference too.

So, today I’m starting back to the diet and training choices that I know work for me.

I know diet choices can be as controversial as religion and politics, so I won’t share what I am doing there, but I will share my exercise choices:

1. I will get back to my daily knowledge walks. I love this. It’s where I walk 3 miles while also listening to a great audio book or other personal or professional development. It’s such a great way to start the day because I get started with exercise while also feeding my mind!

2. Strength training 3x per week.

3. Martial Arts training 3x per week.

The latter is my greatest love of course… I’ve been training in martial arts for over 40 years and sharing my love and passion for it with others as my livelihood for almost 24.

I train in the same things that we teach at my Blackbelt Leadership Academy, Krav Maga Martial Arts: krav maga, kickboxing, karate and kali, as well as personal and professional development.

Those that are already training with us know what a great workout it is, but also how great the knowledge, confidence, camaraderie and accomplishment is.

Training at KMMA reall is a great choice that produces ggreat results.

Well, if you’re training tonight, I’ll see you then!

If you’re not with us yet, START HERE!

I have to go on my morning knowledge walk now!

Make it a great day and I can’t wait to see you!
