This morning I was driving my grandson Triton to school.

He was sitting quietly, just thinking.

I asked him what was on his mind.

He said:

   “Just my campfire speech.”

He was already thinking about what he’s going to say next weekend at the Blackbelt Retreat.

Now here’s what makes that special.

   Triton isn’t even testing.

He just loves being there.

So I asked him what he loves most about it.

Of course he mentioned the training.

  The campfire.

    The activities.

But what stood out most was this:

“Getting to have fun with my friends all weekend.”

And that’s when it hit me.
