I have two big WIGS that I need your help with.

WIG is my acronym for “wildly important goal”, by the way.

I used to use and teach the BHAG (Big Hairy Audacious Goal) that I first learned about in the great book by Jim Collins “Good To Great”.

But BHAG missed the most important part of goal setting to me- the goals I want for myself, my family, my students, and my tribe must be wildly important.

I am so blessed to do what I love to do. Our mission, Prepare To Live and Empower To Lead, is what we do for about 240 students at Krav Maga Martial Arts.

We teach students to survive and thrive in any situation and develop in them the character and grit to do so; we also make our current leaders even better at what they do and raise up tomorrow’s leaders today!

I get so excited just thinking (and writing) about it!

By the way, the WIG at the HQ school is to get to 300.

We will cap enrollment at that point, as we believe this to be the number we can serve best. We will open more locations in the future, but this one is almost full!

Also relevant to this blog, and call to action, is my love of firemen, law enforcement and our military men and women.

We are blessed to have many of these in our Blackbelt Leadership family, and all of us (our community and country) are blessed by the service of all of them.

So now on to my two WIGS, that I need your help with:

1. I want to raise $10,000 for Tunnels to Towers, a great charity organization that not only serves first responders and their families but is doing so right here in Land O Lakes!

2. I want to enroll 60 students to get to our 300 before our Blackbelt Extravaganza!!! That’s only 5 weeks away!

These are WIGS that are also Big and Audacious (tip of the hat to Jim Collins)!

Fact: I can’t do it without you, but together we can’t fail!

Here is my MAP (Massive Action Plan):

1. My best students come from my best students! I am so grateful for how my best Blackbelt Leadership students always share our mission with their friends and our friends with us! I will launch a massive Ambassador Initiative for them to bring 20 of the new students to us. There will be some other great prizes for them when they do too but, most importantly, they will be helping us to empower more local lives through our program AND donate 10k to Tunnels To Towers! KMMA will donate $150 for every new student, $300 for every new family!
2. We will launch a massive membership drive and do the same! If you are reading this and aren’t yet a student, we’ll donate $300 when your family joins us, or $150 if it’s just you! We are also going to be promoting the drive on Facebook and in the community, but the drive starts here today, with this email! Visit or call 813-948-4844 if you’re ready to start your free trial and jump on this mission with KMMA! We’ll get 40 more new students through the membership drive.
3. The 60 new students (by the way 2 students is a family membership- when 2 students pay the rest of the family trains for free) at $150 each will raise us $9,000 for Tunnels To Towers, and I’ll personally donate the other $1000 to get us the rest of the way!

I can’t wait to present that $10,000 check from the stage at our Blackbelt Extravaganza October 2!

I can’t wait to be sowing our mission with 300 students!

About Grandmaster Stephen J. Del Castillo: Grandmaster Del Castillo is the founding Master Instructor of Krav Maga Martial Arts and has been empowering lives in Pasco and Hillsborough Counties since October of 2000. He is a 7th degree Blackbelt, MBA, author, mentor and success coach, a US Army Veteran and a proud father and grandfather. He is married to Ms. Barbara Del Castillo who helps him run the school. Grand Master Del Castillo began his training in the early 80’s and has high level blackbelts in Tae Kwon Do, Karate, Premier Martial Arts and Krav Maga Martial Arts as well as experience in kickboxing, Jeet Kune Do and Jiujitsu.
