How Do You Start Your Day?

How you start your day quietly determines how the rest of it unfolds.

I’ve learned this the hard way—and the right way—over the years.

My mornings begin at 0600, before the noise of the world kicks in. That first block is quiet time with God. Sometimes I use the Pause app to pray and meditate. Sometimes the Bible app. Sometimes it’s just prayer, reflection, and listening. No agenda. Just alignment.

From there, I move into deep work—my most important thinking and creating for the day. When it’s still just me and God, clarity comes faster. This morning, that meant continuing work on our 2026 Strategic Vision, preparing for our upcoming strategic offsite, and setting direction before distractions ever had a chance.

After deep work, I slow it down again—coffee with Barb, conversation, connection. Then I usually head out for a knowledge walk, especially in the mornings. Movement + learning + fresh air is a powerful combination. Exercise isn’t just physical—it clears the mind and sharpens focus for the rest of the day.

There’s a great book called The Miracle Morning that talks about this idea: when you start your day with intention, you reclaim control of it. You don’t drift—you decide.

Your routine doesn’t have to look like mine. But it should be yours—on purpose.

Strong routines create strong habits.
Strong habits create great days.
Great days, stacked together, create great futures.

That’s exactly what we teach here—on and off the mat.

One of the most powerful weekly rituals you can build is training at KMMA 2–3 days a week. It anchors discipline, focus, confidence, and consistency into your life.

And a reminder: this week is TEST WEEK.
If you’re eligible—you need to be here.

For new and future students: we’re now accepting registration for our 2-week trial and orientation programs for the new year, so you’re ready to hit the ground running in January.

Start your days with intention.
Win the day.
And let those wins build your future.

See you on the mat,
