Core Values, Core Books, and Unreasonable Hospitality

I am a voracious reader.

I think it’s because, of all the success habits that have helped me get from where I started to where I’m at today, my consummate reading of great books may be amongst the top 3.

This is also why I share the lessons of the great books with my Blackbelt Leadership Program, and have a reading program for students, Blackbelts and my team.

For the latter, Team KMMA, we read to lead.

I have the team read many great books, and we apply the best concepts of the best of them towards leading better at KMMA.

The books that most affect our culture and core values make my core books list.

These are required reading for all members of the team, and we rotate through them periodically  to retain and enhance the value in our organization.

The most recent of these is a book called Unreasonable Hospitality.

As is my custom, I read the book first. Then, in my excitement about all the amazing lessons in it and how it could help my team and I be even better at delivering the very highest level of service, hospitality, and life change at Krav Maga Martial Arts, I bought copies for all the team, and added Unreasonable Hospitality to both my core values and my core value list!

In confession, I bought the books before even finishing the book…

like a kid on Christmas, I couldn’t wait!

Like a parent on Christmas, I couldn’t wait to share…

And now I can’t wait to share Unreasonable Hospitality with you!

My team and I start reading it together this week, and it will take us through the first quarter to finish, but we will be applying concepts immediately!

I can’t wait for the team to help me figure out all the creative and exciting ways that we can apply the learning to our mission, serving you, and to see the positive effects that our command and application of Unreasonable Hospitality will create for you!

This is the stuff of leadership that fires me up!

And I can’t wait to share it with you!

In the interim, will I see you this week?

If you’re a student and out of town on vacation already, send me some pics!

If you are a student in town and will make class this week, see you there!

And, if you’re not a student yet, this would be a great time to set up your training for next year!

Just reply to this email and say, “I’m ready” and I will personally ensure that we take great care of you and set you up for your best year ever in 2023!

for you or your kids or, best case, all of you!

What we will do, is provide the very, very highest level of training in the martial arts, leadership, character development, goal setting and more, through our amazing Blackbelt Leadership Program, and Unreasonable Hospitality while doing it!

Our current students, as well as amazing instructors and staff, are a tribe of the best and brightest, most positive, and enthusiastic, hardest working and most humble but hungry students I have ever met….
