Communication and What’s Important Next

hello Tribe,

Grandmaster Del Castillo here and I want to share a few changes I am making to my daily email process, to communicate better to you.

Communication is of course one of the most important things we do, in any and all of our relationships, and I have found one of the hardest.

Even in my time as a paratrooper in the 82nd Airborne Division, and later an Officer in the famous 3rd Infantry Division in Germany, communication was always one of the greatest challenges.

Communication is such an important topic- but, while I am feeling the pull to write more about it, that’s not the purpose of today’s email! So I’m resisting the urge.

1. Thank you Kelly Kuethe! Kelly is the mom of one of my great Blackbelt Leadership students and sent me a thank you email with a little constructive criticism sewn in. 🙂 She thanked me for sharing a little calendar of events of sorts about what was happening over the next few weeks and said it was exactly what she’s been needing. Then she said that she loves all my emails and reads as much as she can when she can, but that it would be very helpful if she knew exactly one email that she should definitely look to for info on what’s coming every week.

So thanks for the input Kelley! As is my custom, I thought about it, and decided it was a great idea and came up with a plan to make it happen.

2. Starting this coming Monday, every Monday will be a newsletter from my EA Mrs. Ruthe Flores. She’ll have the calendar of events and other important info for the student family to know, celebrate together etc. And while this is especially for students, I’m going to have her share it with the whole tribe, former and future students too. After all, there are many events we want to invite you to too. 🙂

3. Tuesday and Thursday will be my writing, my Meditations on Mastery where I share my philosophies about leadership, martial arts, personal and professional development, time and resource management, life, relationships, you know- everything i think about. 🙂 And, of course, our Mission of creating confident and competent Blackbelt Leaders, prepared to survive and thrive in any situation, and empowered to lead, where they’re at and into their futures.

4. Friday will be an email from my Program Director, Mr. John Warwick, who will share important reminders about special events and other things important to the academy students and families, and our extended tribe as well. And my son, Sensei Winston, the Head Instructor of KMMA HQ, will share important martial arts information, some fave self defense or kickboxing techniques and/or training techniques and such on Saturdays.

I know both of these men will add so much to your experience as well as Ms. Ruthe.

Have I mentioned lately how grateful I am for my Team?

I sure am- proud and grateful.

I’m grateful for you too!

here’s the You Tube live I did this morning on Focusing our Focus, specifically reference our growth and our priorities.

Just in case you’re one of those that likes my leadership philosophy stuff.

I hope it’s helpful.
