Batman made my Day

Batman was a student of mine for many years.

He went off into the world doing great things; you know, fighting crime and such.

But he surprised me yesterday, calling and asking if I’d like him to help me at the Wesley Chapel Fall Festival.

He showed up and took pictures with the kids, and we caught up a little.

I didn’t know it, but he also shared some stories about impact and influence I had had on his life growing up with my neighbor at the event, George, who was selling some great walking, talking stuffed animals- I bought a couple for my grandson…

Anyway, George told me about the stories while Batman was away on a Bat-Call.

When Batman returned, I asked him about it; and he made my day.

He told me that I had done so much to help him, mentor him and grow him during a very dark and difficult time in his life and closed with “I often look back on those years and wonder how my life would have been if I hadn’t met you. I know things wouldn’t have turned out as great.”

Batman made my day on so many levels.

First, this is why I do what I do. The fuel for me are the positive changes that my students make in their lives AND the positive impact they then make on their world.

Batman has a great mission, business, family, and life and not only credits me and my mission for some of that, but also is a true Superhero always giving back and serving those around him.

He came to help me yesterday, and make my day, as an expression of our 5th Blackbelt Superpower, Gratitude.

For that, I am grateful and inspired.

p.s. in this case, I know Batman wouldn’t mind me revealing his true identity. For parties, events or other gatherings that could use a Superhero or other special character, you can reach him on facebook, or let me know if you need him… i have a Bat-signal.
