Becoming a Master

Mastery is a term used by many but understood by few.Perhaps the video game phenomenon, the microwave, and other elements of our quick moving society have played a part but, for whatever reason, many believe a misnomer that mastery is something that can happen fast.

The truth, in fact, is that mastery takes about 10,000 hours.

This is true in business, art, and music, and in Krav Maga Martial Arts.

In the latter, for example, we can produce competence in self defense faster than other styles, and are in fact masters at producing focus, respect, discipline and other character and leadership skills relatively quickly too….

But mastery still takes a long time.

The average training time to Blackbelt is about 400 hours.

The path to mastery is much longer than that, and honestly a quest that never ends.

Both are a big investment of time and effort.

But most things (dare I say all) are like that.

All things worth doing take some focused hard work and discipline.

But, just like the Blackbelt and path to mastery, many are also worth it.

And here’s the thing about time.

The time is going to pass anyway.

The only question is what we do with it.

So where will you be 4, 6, 10 years from today?

The answer lies in the investments you make and the habits you create.

If you’d like to invest on yourself, your kids or your whole family’s fitness. Focus, confidence, and self-defense skills, we’d love to help!
